Privacy Policy — DJ Harmonic Assistant
Last updated: 17 June 2026
DJ Harmonic Assistant is a browser extension that detects the musical key and BPM of the SoundCloud track you're playing, entirely on your own device. We take a strict no-data-collection approach.
What we collect
Nothing is collected, transmitted, or sold. The extension makes no external network requests and sends no data — your activity, identity, and the audio it analyses never reach us or any third party.
How audio analysis works
When you choose to analyse a track, the extension reads the audio of that SoundCloud tab and processes it entirely within your browser to detect its musical key and BPM, using on-device audio analysis (Web Audio and a bundled WebAssembly analyzer). This audio is never uploaded, stored remotely, or shared. It is held in memory only for the few seconds needed to compute the result, then discarded.
Data stored on your device
The analysed results (key, BPM, and your chosen reference track) are saved locally in your browser via the browser's extension storage, so the extension can show them back to you and compare tracks. This data never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time by removing the extension.
Network activity
The extension makes no external network requests of its own. If you click one of the optional "dig deeper" links (e.g. to SoundCloud, YouTube, Spotify, or 1001tracklists), that opens the respective third-party website in a new tab — those sites' own privacy policies then apply.
